It's like you are talking about my life I can relate to everything you are saying. And it's so true what you said, surrounding yourself with positive motivating people has helped me a lot. When I was around the more negative persons I found myself withdrawing in my shell. But it's still an ongoing process of overcoming my shyness and putting myself out there.

You are soooo stunning so it's hard for me to conceive that you were uncomfortable with your looks…but I get it because I felt the same way and I'm working on myself daily as well.

I literally feel like you just told my life story. I'm a Caribbean girl as well and I was very sheltered and I didn't grow up getting a lot of overt affection – so I was very shy and timid and just tried so hard to stay out of people's way to be more liked (which makes no sense because the only way people get to know you is if you let your guard down and put yourself out there). In retrospect, I understand that my mother probably thought she was doing what was right by sheltering me,  but it certainly affected how I interacted with others and how I feel about myself..but I can't be mad at her because she only did what she knew…So all I can do is let go of blaming others and work on my issues myself.

Anyhow,Please stay as humble and sweet as you are.

You sound EXACTLY like me… It's very challenging, it is… I feel like I'm getting better, little by little, but I still have my moments. It's very frustrating!!
