Former Trinidad and Tobago World Cup 2006 star Stern John got a debut goal for Saddle Hill Hotspur at the Ato Boldon Stadium tonight. But it was not enough to deny QPCC a 4-3 triumph in Couva.

The result put the Queen’s Park outfit two points clear at the top of the CNG National Super League (NSL) Championship Division, although second placed Prisons FC have a game in hand.
The “Parkites” opened the scoring from as early as the sixth minute through Alex Knaggs and led throughout the contest. But Saddle Hill kept coming back as former Pro League journeyman Cyrano Glen, the younger brother of World Cup 2006 forward Cornell Glen, and then John, a Premier League player with Birmingham City and Sunderland, reduced the deficit.
Another former Trinidad and Tobago international, Hector Sam, also struck in stoppage time for Saddle Hill.
But Jerome Charles’ double and a late Akil Glasgow goal was sufficient for QPCC to continue their unbeaten run in the Championship Division.
